Luella Aitkenhead

Welcome to my online CV! I'm Luella, a second-year uni student pursuing a Bachelor of Laws, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (Extended Major in International Relations and Minor in Psychology, BA/LLB) at The University of Queensland. I’m interested in how law engages with international issues and shapes global systems, particularly where economic, social, political and legal factors intersect.

Through my studies, I have developed the ability to critically analyse complex international issues, and contribute in collaborative environments. I bring professionalism, reliability, and a strong work ethic to every opportunity. Through my internship with Hickey Lawyers, I gained insight into practical legal work and had the opportunity to explore different areas of legal practice. Working across litigation, family law, and property law, the experience was both insightful and incredibly rewarding. This year, I further explored different areas of law by completing two online job simulations through Forage, with King & Wood Mallesons and Leo Cussen Centre for Law, developing skills in legal research, contract drafting, and analytical reasoning. Outside of my university studies and career aspirations, my personal interests include music, financial investing, travel, fitness, languages and literature.

I am particularly interested in commercial litigation and legal work, within an international or cross-border context. I’m always open to legal and geopolicy internship opportunities that will help me grow and contribute in meaningful ways 🌏
